Moomin Day Weekend at NYBG
Celebrate nature like the residents of Moominvalley in the Edible Academy, where kids can take part in hands-on crafts, explore the summer vegetable garden, join guest chefs for cooking demos during the afternoon, and enjoy live music and face painting!

Everett Children's Adventure Garden
Included in All-Garden Pass
Culinary Adventures - In the high summer, we harvest as much as we can from our garden to make huge feasts to celebrate the season. Search in the garden for the ingredients we need to make Snufkin’s Hiking Soup.
Cooking Demonstrations - 2 & 4 p.m. Join Edible Academy staff and guest chefs for cooking demonstrations featuring summer produce.
Dig, Plant, Grow! - Roll up your sleeves and help tend the gardens in the Edible Academy. Sow seeds and water seedlings with our green thumbs, and be like the Hemulen as you search for insects and other tiny critters at our Digging Station.
Maker Stations - Decorate a festive flower crown, make pickle preserves, and create your own Moomin-house lantern to light up the summer nights at our Maker Stations, located throughout the Edible Academy.
Ongoing Summer Fun with the Moomins - Read, watch, and learn more about the wonderful world of Moomins in the EAT Lab Classroom. Get into the spirit of summer with facepainting, yoga, and more on the Barnsley Beds event lawn. Dance along to summer songs with ongoing music sets.
