TWEEN CAMPS (AGES 9-12) at Studio E Art

Tween camps meet Tuesday- Friday from 12:15-3:15 every week of summer! Tuition is $175 per week or $1,275 to register for all nine weeks of camp!

We offer a different topic every week and you may register for as few or as many weeks as you like! Camps are always taught by a certified art teacher with the standards for art present in every project.

Weekly Camp Topics

Tween Camp Week 1: July 2nd-5th from 12:15-3:15PM; "Tween Pottery Immersion Camp"

CAMP DOES NOT MEET ON 4TH OF JULY. PRICE IS ALREADY ADJUSTED

In this camp, students will explore hand building and throwing techniques in Earth clay, building a different project per day. Students will have access to our nine high powered pottery wheels! Glazing is not included, but students may schedule an additional glaze time for only $20 (for 1.5 hours of glaze time.) Or students may choose instead to glaze at home. Projects will be packaged and ready for pick up one week later. 

 

Tween Camp Week 2: July 9-12th 12:15-3:15PM; "Foundational Drawing"

Students will learn sequentially, building upon their skills each day. Students will work from still lives and photo references, learning techniques in shading, composition, drawing accuracy and more, using pencils, colored pencils and pastels. All supplies are included.

 

Tween Camp Week 3; July 16-19 12:15-3:15pm; "Exploring Painting Techniques"

In this camp, students will learn techniques in watercolor, acrylic and tempera paint. Students will work from photo references, still lives and create self portraits using mirrors. Perfect for a dabbler to more experienced painter!

 

Tween camp week 4, Meets July 23rd-26th from 12:15-3:15pm; "Tween Comic Illustration Camp"

In this camp, students will learn how to develop and create their own characters for a comic strip. Students will write and develop story lines to go with their characters, giving each of their characters a unique personality. Over the course of the week, students will develop a final comic strip using comic cell illustration paper, colored pencils, markers, and more.

 

Tween Camp Week 5, Meets July 30th-Aug 2nd from 12:15-3:15; "Watercolor Basics"

In this camp, students will explore a variety of watercolor techniques including wet on wet, wet on dry, dry on dry and more! Students will work from stock photo references (provided at the studio) creating a variety of pictures and improving their watercolor skills throughout the week. 

 

Tween Camp Week 6, Meets Aug 6-9th from 12:15-3:15PM; "Polymer Clay Crafts and Jewelry"

In this camp, students will explore techniques using polymer clay. Techniques will include cane rolling, using molds, sculpting and more. Students will also learn techniques in macrame using hemp string to make necklaces, bracelets and more!

 

Tween Camp Week 7, Aug 13-16 from 12:15-3:15; "Beginner Sewing Techniques"

In this camp, students will learn basic hand sewing techniques using a variety of easy hand stitches which will be taught in camp. Students will use felt and fabric, creating a multitude of projects including stuffed animals, a coin purse and more!

 

Tween Camp Week 8, Meets Aug 20-24th from 12:15-3:15PM; "Collage and Painting Techniques Camp"

In this camp, students will learn and experiment with collage and painting techniques, creating a variety of projects throughout the week. No prior experience is necessary. 

 

Tween Camp Week 9, Meets Aug 27th-30th from 12:15-3:15PM; "Tween Pottery Immersion Camp"
