About this Event
This year Billion Oyster Project (NYC) is excited to accept a wide variety of student projects related to New York Harbor. Unlike in years past, guest judges will not evaluate students’ projects based on a fixed rubric. Instead, for BOP Virtual Symposium Week 2020, guest reviewers will provide individualized feedback on all projects, and BOP will celebrate exemplary projects by featuring them on BOP's social media and website.
Exemplary projects demonstrate students’:
personal investment in their project
craftsmanship in executing their project, and
reflectiveness when they discuss their project with adult reviewers.
Virtual Symposium Week Timeline
SUBMIT Friday, June 5th: All project submissions due by 3pm ET via Google Form. The link to submit projects will be sent to all Eventbrite registrants.
REVIEW Monday, June 8th – Wednesday June 10th: BOP staff will schedule individual virtual meetings via Zoom between Guest Reviewers and project creators to facilitate individualized feedback. Teachers are encouraged to participate.
CELEBRATE Friday, June 12th: The Virtual Symposium Celebration will be held virtually at 11am ET. An invitation link to the virtual celebration will be sent out to all participants.
