Celebrating America's 250th - Intrepid Museum

In 2026, our nation will commemorate America’s 250th, and the Intrepid Museum will serve as a vibrant museum hub for celebration, reflection, and learning. Throughout the year, in our programming and experiences, we will honor America’s story and Intrepid’s contributions to its history while inspiring the generations who will write its next chapter. Celebrate America’s 250th birthday at the Intrepid Museum, July 3–7, 2026! Throughout the weekend, enjoy musical performances and explore a variety of military displays, activities, and demonstrations from the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard, Office of Naval Research, and more.

Learn to Fish with the Bayside Anglers (Ages 12+)

Many lifelong residents fail to recognize that a spectacular world class recreational fishery is located right here in the city, and choices abound. Within minutes of APEC, an angler could catch two ounce crappies, two pound smallmouth bass, twenty pound carp, ten pound bluefish, 16 pound striped bass and more without ever getting back in a car. Join us and begin to unlock this bounty for yourself. First and third Tuesday of the month - May through September | 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm.

Vet Tech 101 – Nutrition at Alley Pond (Ages 8-10)

Students will focus on the nutritional needs of our animals and optimal dietary choices for body weight, bone health, and organ health. They will also learn how to check to make sure the animals are receiving the right amount of nutrition by giving them examinations and will feed a variety of animals in our care. Space is limited.
