Drawing forms the foundation for all of visual arts and is essential before moving on to Painting. In this beginner Drawing course, teens study best practices and classical drawing exercises essential to developing ability. Learn how to achieve accurate proportion & linear perspective, shading and values, develop an eye for line and form and the essentials of drawing ellipses, drawing a cylinder, hemispheres & how to employ horizontal lines & vanishing points for perspective.

Learn how to achieve accurate proportion & linear perspective, shading and values.
Develop an eye for line- form & tone using a combination of pencil, charcoal, or inks.
Discover how to draw using the right side of the brain
How to draw curves, use the contour technique & straight line approximation technique, the essentials of drawing ellipses, drawing a cylinder, hemispheres & how to employ horizontal lines & vanishing points to give your drawings a sense of volume and accuracy.
How to use the midpoint establishment to ensure the two major halves or your drawings are accurate- these exercises help you learn how to see shape and form and develop confidence.
In the last few weeks of our course we will take what we have learned and incorporate them into more full realized detailed illustrations.

Art Supplies

All drawing supplies are provided: the use of pencils, charcoal and inks, and paper.
We do recommend having your own personal sketchbook so you can practice at home and track your progress.
