Camp Skywild is a traditional week long overnight summer camp experience designed for autistic kids (7-17y) and their neurotypical siblings(6-14y). The SkyWild team believes that summer camp can be a powerfully formative experience for children, so they aim to accommodate a wide range of social, emotional and cognitive needs to make the camp opportunity accessible to more diverse populations. SkyWild campers shoot archery, go canoeing, tie dye t-shirts, go fishing, roast smores, sing, dance, swim in the lake, and so much more! They understand that each camper needs unique support in order to access our program, so they run extensive staff training, operate flexible programming, and maintain low staff ratios & a 24-hour medical team. Their daily schedule is highly structured and predictable to ease camper anxiety around what's coming next, but remains adaptable in a "challenge by choice" nature so that campers can engage in the ways that feel best for them.

Their Spectrum Program is for campers with an autism diagnosis ages 7-17. Their Siblings Program is for neurotypical children ages 6-14 growing up alongside a sibling with cognitive or developmental differences or medical needs. The Siblings Program aims to celebrate children who often receive different or less attention at home due to the needs of a sibling requiring greater support. In an environment where everyone "gets it," their circumstances are not different or exceptional, and their counselors  spend the camp week centering their experience to maximize fun in a compassionately understanding community. Running these programs simultaneously allows for a parallel but separate experience for all of the family's children while offering a true week of respite for parents and caregivers.
