Get ready, Westchester, for a once in a lifetime event.
Sunday August 18th, 11am to 3pm New Rochelle celebrates the bicentennial visit of General Lafayette at Ruby Dee Park, New Rochelle Library.
Experience life back in 1824 at a living history extravaganza as we commemorate Lafayette’s role in the American Revolution and his triumphant return to America 50 years later. With 18th and 19th century reenactors, a 19-gun salute, Blacksmith, baker, children’s toys & music, free arts & crafts and more!
Storyteller extraordinaire, Jonathan Kruk, Songcatchers & Tutti Bravi singers and the Charles Dickerson Fife and Drum Bugle Corp will perform. Weather permitting, a large petting zoo.
And the man of the hour Marquis de Lafayette.
Hosted by the Huguenot & New Rochelle Historical Association & New Rochelle Public Library. Sponsored by the City of New Rochelle.
