Green Teens: Our Earth, Our Home at LICM

Explore the worlds of science and nature with the Green Teens this summer in Our Backyard! Each week, dig deeper into the unknown through hands-on learning experiences on alternative energy, water, habitats, and more. Check out our website for Green Teens updates.

This week we’re examining colors. Visitors will:
- Use a prism to see what colors are found in sunlight and experiment with colored cellophane to see how reflected light changes
- Learn about the pH scale and how litmus paper changes color to indicate a substance’s pH level
- Explore how everyday materials such as cinnamon or peppermint can create beautiful pigments; then use these spices to make your own paint to bring home!
