I Love My Park Day Centennial Celebration

The Atlantic Marine Conservation Society (AMSEAS) is teaming up with NYS Parks and members from local indigenous tribes to host a centennial celebration in honor of “I Love My Park Day” at Hallock State Park Preserve on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 10am-3pm. The event will include a trail walk to learn about the Native and Natural Heritage of the North Fork, a beach cleanup, tree planting, and a collective prayer ceremony led by members of the local Indigenous community. Beach cleanup supplies will be provided, but the public is encouraged to bring gloves. Participants can register using the following link: https://reg.resport.io/s/step1.jsp?r=6109031621984256. 10:00-10:15- Welcome to the Event- Hand out
10:15-12:00- Volunteer Beach Cleanup activity
10:30-11:30- Trail Walk - Local Indigenous people discuss their relationship with nature
12:00-12:45- Collective prayer led by members of the local Indigenous community
1:00-2:30- Volunteer tree planting activity
1:30-2:30- Classroom Presentation- History and Heritage of local Indigenous community
2:00-3:00-Nature/Trail walk with State Park Naturalist- History of Hallock State Park
