I Love My Park Day w. AMSEAS at Hallock State Park

Join AMSEAS at Hallock State Park as we celebrate I Love My Park Day in conjunction with Parks and Trails New York. Join us from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM, for a fun day of events where you will gain an understanding of the important role NYS Parks play in protecting native habitats for native plants and the natural ecosystems they support for the purposes of preservation and public enjoyment, and learn how you can help advance marine conservation initiatives by participating in ongoing beach monitoring and cleanup efforts!

 

We will be holding a beach cleanup, educational activities about the dangers of marine debris (including a trash sorting station for whatever is picked up on the cleanup!) and a tree planting activity. This is also a great opportunity to learn more about other conservation groups on Long Island, as we will be joined by friends from Quogue Wildlife Refuge, Group for the East End, Surfrider Foundation Eastern Long Island, and NY Sea Grant. We will be collecting debris for local artists at UpSculpt to use in their educational up-cycled sculptures!
