Juneteenth Celebration at Wave Hill

Celebrate Juneteenth and honor Black history, achievement and resilience with an evening of performances, artmaking and more. Picnic on the Great Lawn and enjoy a tasty treat of specialty ice cream while supplies last, courtesy of Only Rare NYC. Decorate colorful plant pots inspired by stories of hope and liberation. The celebration culminates with engaging musical and dance performances that highlight the Black experience in the United States. This is a free community event; all ages are welcome.

The event takes place on the Great Lawn. Visitors may bring folding chairs and blankets. Picnicking is permitted for this special community event. Glyndor Gallery, The Café and Shop are open until 7:30PM.
In the event of inclement weather, this event will move inside to Wave Hill House. Capacity there is limited. Pre-registered tickets to the “Rain or Shine” option receive priority seating and same-day registration not guaranteed. Pre-registration to the “Shine Only” option does not guarantee seating to the event if moved indoors.
