WinterFest: Lunar New Year Celebration at The Heckscher Museum

Celebrate and learn about Lunar New Year with a focus on Chinese culture at this free family event for all ages. Get creative and enjoy a variety of hands-on activities, artists, dance performances, and more.

- Meet artist Han Qin and create along with her! Qin will be painting dancer Wendi Weng throughout the day.
- Join Patricia Shih from the Town of Huntington Asian-American Task Force and learn about Chinese culture with the Mobile Museum of authentic (and some replicate) artifacts of the history, art, culture, and more.
- Create origami with Hansen Lee from the Town of Huntington Asian-American Task Force.
- Make your own Chinese lantern.
- Warm up with free hot beverages including hot cocoa, tea, and apple cider… and much more!
- Dance Performances:
- Wendi Weng will perform traditional Chinese dances. Children are invited to join in for select performances:
12:30 pm · 2:00 pm · 3:30 pm - Volunteers are invited to learn the Lion Dance and accompanying music with Patricia Shih and perform for visitors:
1:15 pm · 2:45 pm · 4:15 pm
