Founded in 1972, the Japan Society Language Center is the premier Japanese language center in New York City, offering 13 comprehensive levels and six semesters each year. Also offered are specialized language and culture courses and workshops including Shodo courses which introduce the art of Japanese calligraphy, a Teacher Training program providing the tools for teaching Japanese, and English language classes uniquely created for Japanese native speakers.
MITY offers over 100 unique STEM, humanities and fine arts courses that are specifically designed to meet the needs of advanced learners. Classes cover topics not typically taught in schools within a fun and challenging environment.

Led by our talented staff of nature educators, our programs are designed for a wide variety of audiences including schools, children, adults, scouts, senior citizens, clubs, people with special needs, and organizations. The museum also conducts cooperative nature education programs with other nature organizations and government agencies.
We offer virtual educational enrichment classes via ZOOM for children in 1st-6th grades, Monday through Friday, five days a week from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM PST.
